Franklin

Background:

In January of 2006, Planit Main Street, Inc. was selected by the Town of Franklin, New York to prepare the its new Comprehensive Plan.  Working with the Comprehensive Plan Committee; we developed a Comprehensive Plan Survey, conducted public visioning sessions; attended the required public hearings; and prepared the necessary documents to comply with the State Environmental Quality Review Act.   Through a strong public participation process and active Committee participation we were able to reach board consensus on a variety of important issues.  In September of 2006, the Comprehensive Plan Committeeee forwarded the Comprehensive Plan to the Town Board for adoption.  The Town Board unanimously adopted the 2006 Town of Franklin Comprehensive Plan on October 10, 2006.

Planit Main Street, Inc. also worked with the Town to revise its existing Zoning Law and to prepare a Local Law to regulate Wind Energy Facilities.    The Zoning Law revisions and Local Law No. 1 of 2007 were unanimously adopted by the Town Board on March 13, 2007.   The Town of Franklin Comprehensive Plan, Zoning Law Revisions and Local Law No. 1 entitled “Wind Energy Facilities” can be viewed in their entirety by clicking on the links to the right.
